“The Real World”: Peace

For the past sixteen years, MTV’s reality show The Real World has allowed viewers to watch seven strangers living under one roof in some hip city. It’s supposed to be a big social challenge due to the conflicting views of housemates. But, if you really want to hear about a fascinating social experiment (that’s teaching young women how to establish world peace), you need to meet Danielle Josephs, who, as a senior, created the Middle East Coexistence House (MECH) at her college for young women of various ethnicities. Below are essays from seven women (starting with Danielle) who have been transformed by the experience. Prepare to be inspired.
